My SVA interview sucked. I came off as some blundering little teen fresh out of high school, but that wasn't the issue. It never occurred to me when getting my porfolio together that they would want something RECENT. Slick, Kat. Way to go. I'm pretty confident that I got in (never a good sign...), but I'm pretty sure it won't be for the spring 2005 semester. I provided absolutely no proof that I have any sort of experience with animation. I was hoping with my transcript and the syllabi I provided they would just assume I had some sort of ability, but my interviewer was inclined to believe I didn't know much past the terminology, and I didn't even show them a friggin' storyboard (mostly because I don't have one, but I could have made something up). Damn it damn it damn it. I can't afford Pratt for another semester!
But it's okay. I am one with the universe now. It's not as though the situation has really been decided yet. Thus, I wait. I know I seemed stressed out about every aspect of my life and art especially, but deep down, I'm happy. Not even that deep down; I think my happiness is pretty close to the surface. I'm fine just being alive.
